Ward 3A Councilor Sworn-In

Ward 3A Community in Ika South L.G.A which is made up of Alisimie, Omumu, Alisor, Alizormor and Alileha Communities now has a Cause to Jubilate as Hon. Emmanuel Egede was sworn in as the transition councilor representing the Ward on Thursday 20th June 2013.
Speaking with newsmen after his inauguration, Hon Egede expressed gratitude to God for his appointment, saying that his people that were neglected now have the opportunity to be represented.

In his words, “The vacuum that was there in the ward is filled, the people of Ward 3A now has a voice to speak for them and also a shoulder to lean on, “as I will do my best to make sure they are fully represented”.
The transition councilor noted that he is aware of some challenges facing the people citing an example with Omumu/ Alizor road which he says will be addressed as he promised to do his best to make the people feel the impact of his transition, while also said that he will extend his good will to Ward 3B which is yet to get an transition councilor to represent them in the Local Government.

“When there was no transition councilor representing Ward 3A, no dividend was coming to the ward”.
“People look up to the Government for development as each community have a need, so I will do what is within my power to make my people happy”, he promised.

Hon. Egede while disclosing that his involvement in an open door policy where people that come to him for any issue will be welcomed also noted that unity is needed in order to take politics in Ika south to the next level and bring more development to the area. He further commended Hon. Engr (Mrs.) Doris Uboh Ogunkoye who he described as a leader and the mother for efforts towards his appointment saying that she did her best while the issue persisted.

The councilor also commended the youths in the L.G.A who he said were ready to take the bull by the horn by addressing issue facing the society as he advised them to shun violence and embrace dialogue as violence does not bring about development.

He charged the people to desist from mortgaging their future during elections as it is wrong for one to sell his right when one has the opportunity to carve out the future of the land by voting for a credible candidate.
